ABOUT troop 114

In 1923, five adult volunteers and eleven boys, led by Scoutmaster George Justice Gray (1923-1944), were assembled to form Troop 114 as Chartered by the Hyde Park Community (Formerly known as Linwood) Methodist Church. 100 years later we have 35 youth and 15 adult volunteers and are the 2nd Oldest Troop in Cincinnati and the 4th oldest continuously chartered scouting program in the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Our troop’s objectives of Scouting are character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

Scouts work in groups called patrols, to learn team building and leadership skills and to help prepare them for life.

In Scouting, a boy is encouraged to educate himself instead of being instructed.”-Lord Baden-Powell
